The Alliance Française de Kumasi offers group classes for adults at ALL levels: beginner (A1 and A2), intermediate (B1 and B2), and expert (C1 and C2).

Our group classes are meticulously crafted to help students progressively acquire skills in a full French immersion environment from the very first day. Every session emphasizes practical communication and interaction in French, tailored to suit all levels of proficiency.

We provide instruction through a highly effective cultural and communicative approach that integrates the four essential language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These classes ensure students develop a strong foundation in the language and are fully equipped to meet the DELF/DALF exam requirements.

Class Structure:

Duration: Each session spans 8 weeks and includes 16 hours of instructional time.

Schedule: Classes are held once a week for 2 hours per session.

Flexibility: The total hours required to complete a level may vary depending on group progress, as we prioritize quality over speed. Teachers assess group readiness to adjust pacing appropriately.

For smaller groups:

A minimum of 4 students is needed to start a group class.

If a class has 3 students, the instructional time is reduced to 1h30 per week, totalling 12 hours per session.

Placement Test:

A placement test is mandatory for prospective students with prior French learning experience to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level.

Learning Resources:

A textbook and workbook are required for most group classes. These materials can be purchased online, directly at the Alliance, or borrowed through our library system on the website.
