Alliance Française Kumasi does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, disability, gender, sexuality, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its admissions, educational, or employment policies and programs.
ClASS SESSION AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION FOR GROUP CLASSES
Organization of Group Classes
Adult Learners: Classes are organized into sessions of 8 weeks.
Children and Teens: Classes are organized into semesters or sessions of 4 or 8 weeks.
Registration Requirements
Payments must be made in full at the time of enrollment.

Class tuition fees usually do not include textbooks or workbooks.
Books: Mandatory for most group classes and sourced through a third-party company, Klett World of Language. Books are mailed directly to the student’s address. Visit Klett World of Language for more details.
Prorated payments are available for new students joining after the session start date, with approval from the Program Coordinator.
OUR CLASS POLICY ON REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
Class Policy on Refunds, Cancellations, and Changes
Cancellations and Changes by Alliance Française Kumasi
Group classes require a minimum of 4 students to open.
Classes may be canceled or adjusted due to insufficient enrollment, teacher availability, or scheduling issues.
Notification of cancellations will be sent via email. Affected students can opt for:
Transferring to another course
Receiving tuition credit
Receiving a full refund
Adjustments for Small Classes
Class sessions of 2 hours:
Reduced to 1.5 hours with 3 students
Reduced to 1 hour with 2 students
Class sessions of 1.5 hours:
Reduced to 1 hour with fewer than 3 students
For classes with 2 or fewer students, students may:
Be reassigned to another group with a similar level
Opt for private or semi-private options
Cancellations and Changes by Students
Refunds:
To receive a full refund, students must submit a written request before the first class begins.
Credits:
After the first class, only credits for future sessions will be issued, minus a $30 cancellation fee and $35 per class.
Credits are valid for one year and transferable within the same family membership.
No credits will be issued after the third class.
Private Classes
Private hours or packages must be used within 12 months of payment.
Payment is due at least 24 hours before the first lesson and at the end of subsequent packages.
Cancellation or rescheduling must be requested at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, the session will be charged.
Private classes are non-refundable. Credits can be transferred to a group class or another student in the same household.
Missed Classes
Students are encouraged to inform their teachers in advance of absences via email (for in-person classes) or the Apolearn e-learning platform (for online classes).
Missed classes are non-refundable.
In case of cancellations by Alliance Française Kumasi:
Teacher absence/illness: A make-up class will be scheduled or a credit issued for the next session.
Weather/environmental factors: In-person classes will be rescheduled or moved online. Online classes will proceed as planned unless power outages occur.
Code of Conduct and Disruptive Student Policy
Alliance Française Kumasi reserves the right to dismiss students for disruptive or inappropriate behavior.
Complaints are reviewed with the student, and if behavior persists, the student will be dismissed. A prorated refund may be issued for unused classes.
Students must sign a Code of Conduct on the first day of class.
Additional Policies
Cell Phones: Not permitted during class.
Eating and Drinking: Discouraged during class to maintain focus.
Pets: Not allowed on the premises except for certified service animals.
Only registered students may participate in or attend classes, whether in-person or online.
